History


Northwestern Bohemia, specially district Karlovy Vary, have been predetermined for
porcelain industry, because of their rich deposits of kaolin.

That is why was in year 1804 established porcelain factory in Dalovice. Its owner Johan Ritter von Schönau began to produce stoneware on his manor. From 1850 until beginning of the century had porcelain factory in Dalovice several owners, but only in 1889 when it owned the company Springer from Loket, was finally abolished production of stoneware.

In 1918 the factory became part of concern Epiag ( Erste Bohmische Porzellanindustrie A. G. In Karlsbad (The first joint-stock company Czech porcelain industry in Karlovy Vary.)

After the nationalization of the EPIAG in 1945 porcelain factory in Dalovice was incorporated into the state enterprise Karlovarský porcelán in 1958. Porcelain factories in Jakubov and Stružná became its part in 1990.

In 1991, when was denationalization of the part of state property, has become the owner of porcelain factories Epiag DAFA,s.r.o., which stop out the production in 1997 and porcelain factory was closed until 2002. In 2002 bought the factory in Dalovice (already own again) company LOFIDA – PORCELÁN CZ s. r. o., which restores the production of porcelain in factory in Dalovice under the new corporate brand: EPIAG LOFIDA – Porcelán CZ s.r.o.

In 2009, onward company EPIAG LOFIDA-Porcelán CZ s.r.o. purchased manufacture Chodov, which is under the direction of experienced management at this time.
